Baby Love, Family Retreats, and Classmates that do What I Say!

I can't believe how life changes in the blink of an eye when you have a baby. People told me it would. Did I believe them? Yes. Did I understand what they were saying? I thought so. Was it like I thought? No, absolutely not. The truth is, I was so excited for Noah to be born. I knew it was a new chapter in our lives and we'd have fun sometimes, but I thought it would be more of a responsibility. Don't get me wrong, there is a huge responsibility in being a parent; Probably more of a responsibility than any other thing that exists. What I mean is, I spent my whole adolescent life babysitting and taking care of other people's children, so naturally, I thought that when mine was born it would be like taking care of other people's children, except the parents would never come home to relieve me of my duties because I was the parent. In other words, I thought it would be like a job that never ends.

On the contrary, I love taking care of him. My love for Noah grows every day. I don't see it as a job anymore, but as a privilege. I don't want anyone to get the impression that I didn't enjoy babysitting, because I did; but I'm sure you understand what I mean. Now that I've spent two paragraphs rambling on about how I feel and everybody is probably thoroughly confused, i'm gonna move on to another subject.

After Noah finished his bottle tonight, he just snuggled right up into me and wrapped his arm around my neck and fell asleep. The love that welled up in my heart almost brought me to tears. My eyes are getting teary right now just thinking about it. I could never ask for a bigger blessing. I am so thankful that God gave us Noah.

I listen to Focus on the Family Daily with Doctor Dobson almost every single day. I am constantly reminded of how important it is to train your children and never to let a moment pass without being grateful for them. I encourage all of you to listen to that program on a regular basis. You can listen to it online at focusonthefamily.com and going to the media player.

Well, next time I'm sure I'll have something more interesting for all of you to read about, but for now, here is a picture from our day.
This is a picture from my class this week (Audio-visuals). Why are they looking at a tree? Because I told them to and they do what I say. *laugh's evilly (sp)*

Here is a couple of pictures of family retreat. Adam took Noah on his first four wheeler ride; without my permission I might add. Noah slept like a baby (no pun intended) on the way home because he was so tired. Thank you to Jay and Tanya Slagenweit for the food they gave us and the ride to and from the retreat and wonderful fellowship together!
